New Game of Thrones photos show Red Priestess

Several photos have been released from the upcoming episode showing Sansa and Brienne planning with Jon Snow, Sansa confronting Littlefinger, Dany with Daario and Jorah, Arya in the Hall of Faces, and a pivotal scene where Bran faces the Night’s King, a scene which was briefly shown in the trailers for the sixth season.

A new Red Priestess like Melisandre has also been added to the cast. This is Kinvara, played by Israeli actress Ania Bukstein. She is based in Mereen and she may have some important messages to share with the people there.

The preview for next week’s episode, The Door, shows Kinvara speaking to Tyrion and Varys, telling them:

“Knowledge has made you powerful. But there’s still so much you don’t know.”

While not much is known about the character so far, the little we’ve seen of her and knowing Melisandre’s track record in wreaking havoc, we can guess that she may cause some complications for everyone she encounters. Hopefully, Tyrion and Varys can sort things out before Daenerys makes her triumphant return.

What this new vision will reveal to the young Stark may well turn the tide of the coming winter. Hopefully he learns something useful and doesn’t get himself in grave danger. It isn’t clear if the Night’s King can see him too but for Bran’s sake, let’s hope this isn’t possible. But then again, we don’t know much about the nature of his visions under the tutelage of the Three-Eyed Raven.

Many exciting things lie ahead for the rest of the season, with big battles and tense standoffs still to come between various major characters.
