Grant Ward Makes First Comic Appearance in ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.LD.’ #5

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. #5

Since the start of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe numerous new characters have been introduced in film and TV that were never part of Marvel Comics canon beginning with Agent Phil Coulson, who made his first on screen appearance in 2008’s Iron Man. He later made his Marvel Comic debut in the 2012 limited series Battle Scars. Since then other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents made popular on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC have made their way into the comics, including Agents Melinda May, Fitz, and Simmons.

Now, Grant Ward will be making his comic book debut in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. #5. Like his on screen counterpart played by Brett Dalton, this version of Grant Ward is also a former agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., though the details on his departure have not been revealed and we first see him wearing an Iron Man suit for some reason.

Check out an official preview of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. #5 below. The issue is set to hit store shelves and digital platforms Wednesday, May 11.
