Watch the thrilling new Game of Thrones trailer

Another epic trailer has been released for the sixth season of Game of Thrones.

With the premiere only a few weeks away, the excitement is mounting for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones. As more details are being revealed about the complex plot of the fantasy drama, more theories are being formed about the fates of the different characters.

A newly released trailer shows even more of the way the pieces are moving across the board in Westeros. It’s a short but intriguing clip with various characters dealing with sticky situations, battle scenes being set up, and dragons. Always dragons.

Here are a few things we learned from this trailer:

– Things are stirring in Castle Black. Davos Seaworth is there. Jon Snow is still dead.

– Tyrion is facing challenges of his own as he deals with the Sons of the Harpy in Mereen.

Game of Thrones S6 trailer Jaime– Jaime Lannister is in a tense face-off with the High Sparrow.

– A dragon flies over the Dothraki, probably in search of Daenerys, who is not having an easy time among her late husband’s people.

– Blind Arya continues her assassin training with the man formerly known as Jaqen H’ghar.

– Sansa seriously contemplates revenge on all those (Boltons, Freys) who have destroyed her family.

– Jorah Mormont worries about the spread on the greyscale on his arm.

– A mysterious woman is making Tyrion and Varys nervous. No easy feat.

– Cersei is also bent on revenge and she encourages Tommen to step up.

– Davos Seaworth rallies troops to fight.

– “The real war is between the living and the dead,” Davos declares, “And make no mistake, the dead are coming.”

Game of Thrones S6 trailer Tyrion– “Dragons do not do well in captivity,” Tyrion warns. Missandei asks how he knows this and he cheekily replies, “That’s what I do. I drink and I know things.”

The final scene is of Tyrion somehow walking into the dragon’s den. What he expects to do there is a mystery. So much to think about from a two-minute trailer.

A selected group of lucky viewers were treated to an early screening of the season premiere on Sunday night at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California, followed by an after party with the cast members at the Roosevelt Hotel.

The reactions of the audience to the first episode were positive, as evidenced in a spoiler-free early review in Entertainment Weekly. The producers requested the audience not to reveal any plot points from the premiere, only their general impressions.

Speaking to the audience, showrunner David Benioff discussed the challenges of making this season of Game of Thrones:

“This season was a beast to make. We shot 680 hours of dailies, which translates to 3.7 million feet of film. We shot in five different countries – Northern Ireland, Spain, Croatia, Iceland, and Canada. We employed 900 crewmembers in Belfast; 400 in Spain. We issued 140 script revisions. We two shot units a day for 22 weeks straight, three units a day for 10 weeks straight, four units for two weeks straight. And none of that would be possible without the greatest producing team on the planet.”

Game of Thrones season six premieres for the rest of us on April 24 on HBO.
