‘Shadowhunters’ Renewed for Season 2!

The Shadowhunters cast are as excited for Season 2 as we are!

The Shadowhunters‘ various social media accounts revealed that an early morning chat would occur with the cast on Monday, March 14th via Facebook Live. Immediately, the inkling of a season renewal came to my attention. “That’s gotta be what it is,” I thought to myself.

What did the cast announce during the chat? A second season! Let the confetti fly! Literally.

In attendance to give the news was Katherine McNamara, Harry Shum Jr., Isaiah Mustafa, Emeraude Toubia, and writers/producer Ed Decter and McG respectively. Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, and Matthew Daddario were present in the form of FaceTime/smart phones. From them reminiscing of the audition process for the series, to joking about who’ll have the best abs come season two, the love and chemistry the cast has for each other is abundantly clear.

As a whole, Shadowhunters has averaged 2.2 million viewers in Nielsen’s live-plus-7 ratings. When it comes to the show’s social media aspect, the show has logged more then 17 million “engagements” (likes, retweets, etc) as Freeform states. After Pretty Little Liars, Shadowhunters is FreeForm’s most talked about show (via social media)!

What are you most looking forward in the new second season? I want more Clary, Isabelle (and their friendship in general #Clizzy), Malec scenes, and perhaps more supernatural creatures?
