Spider-Man Revealed in Brand New ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Trailer

Civil War PosterAfter government interference designed to keep super heroes “in check”, seemingly headlined by General “Thunderbolt” Ross (William Hurt), divides the Avengers in half, hero will go up against hero. Marvel’s all new trailer for Captain America: Civil War reveals more about what commences this battle among heroes as General Ross uses examples of the collateral damage from the previous battles of New York City, Washington D.C., and Sokovia to prove his point.

In addition to more details about the apparent Superhero Registration Act, this new trailer provides plenty of new footage of Vision (Paul Bettany), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman). But of course, everyone will be talking about the first official reveal of one all-new Avenger in particular.

Spider-Man, portrayed by Tom Holland, makes his first appearance at the very end of this trailer, swooping in and taking away Cap’s shield with his webbing. A few changes have been made in the costume in order to separate this new Spider-Man from the ones we’ve seen on screen in the past. One major change exists in Spider-Man’s mask as it seems there is a mechanism that allows his eyes to open and close. This change makes his costume more in line with the comics, as Spider-Man’s eyes constantly widen or narrow depending on his reactions. Check out the trailer below.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo (The Winter Soldier), Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, and Tom Holland. Captain America: Civil War releases in theaters May 6, 2016. Feel free to let us know what you think of the new trailer in the comments below.
