New ‘Deadpool’ TV Spot Released to Hold You Off Until Friday

Deadpool PosterLast night’s Super Bowl 50 served as an outlet for several new promos for upcoming comic-book-based movies. 20th Century Fox took the opportunity to promote their upcoming Marvel films X-Men: Apocalypse and Deadpool.

Deadpool, directed by Tim Miller and starring Ryan Reynolds in the titular role, hits theaters pretty soon and is already getting some amazing reviews. The film currently holds a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing this article. 20th Century Fox has been doing a commendable job promoting the film, releasing some clever movie posters and trailers featuring plenty of fan service.

The new Super Bowl, or Superb Owl, TV spot doesn’t show us much we haven’t seen already, but if you closely enough you can see X-Men team member Colossus (SPOILER ALERT) rescuing Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and Angel Dust (Gina Carano) from an explosion. Additionally, Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson/Deadpool cracks jokes about being a professional athlete, which is suitable considering the outlet used to release this spot.

Check out the official Superb Owl TV spot for Deadpool below and don’t forget Deadpool hits theaters this Friday, February 12.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
