Victoria Smurfit will be reprising her role as the fur-obsessed, animal-controlling Queen of Darkness in the second half of season 5, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The 101 Dalmatians villain made her first appearance in season 4 where she was in league with Ursula, Maleficent, and Rumplestiltskin as they tried to get the Author to write their happy endings. After kidnapping Henry, Cruella was eventually killed by Emma Swan. No details yet on how she will be brought back to the show, but characters coming back from the dead is not an uncommon occurrence on Once Upon a Time.
Smurfit joins other old characters who were previously announced to return this season, including Barbara Hershey as Cora Mills, Robbie Kay as Peter Pan, and Giancarlo Esposito as Sidney Glass/the Magic Mirror. However, unlike them, she will not be reappearing in the special 100th episode. EW reports that Cruella De Vil will instead be involved in several episodes in the second half of the season.
Once Upon a Time season 5 airs Sundays on ABC.
