the-walking-dead-season-6Exciting news for all fans of The Walking Dead: another season of guts and gore is guaranteed, Deadline reports. AMC announced the renewal of their top-rated zombie apocalypse drama for its seventh season to air next October, right after a devastating cliffhanger in the most recent episode. The aftershow, Talking Dead, will also be coming back.

According to Deadline, Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV, and AMC Studios had this to say about the show and its success:

“We are so proud to share these shows with fans who have been so passionate, communicative and engaged. We are grateful for and continually impressed by the talent, effort and excellence on continuous display by Robert Kirkman, Scott Gimple, Chris Hardwick and the many people with whom we partner to make these unique shows possible. The result: More Walking and Talking. Hooray.”

The sixth season of The Walking Dead currently airs every Sunday on AMC.
