Vincent D'Onofrio DaredevilNBC’s Emerald City has found its wizard.

Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil, Jurassic World) has just been cast as the enigmatic figure who heads Emerald City, according to Variety. His character is described as “a man of science in a world of magic, he rules through inspiration, fear and a tenuous accord with the grand witches.”

Emerald City was recently given a 10-episode straight-to-series order by NBC, despite having been passed over in 2014. The fantasy drama also stars Adria Arjona (True Detective) as the story’s heroine, Dorothy Gale.

Here is the official synopsis of the series:

“Swept up into the eye of a tornado, 20-year-old Dorothy Gale is transported to another world – a mystical land in great peril, where an all-powerful wizard has forbidden magic and rules over many kingdoms. This is the fabled Land of Oz in a way you’ve never seen it before, where lethal warriors roam, wicked witches plot in the shadows and a young girl from Kansas becomes a headstrong heroine who holds the fate of their world in her hands.”

The show also stars Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Lucas, Ana Ularu as the Wicked Witch of the West, Gerran Howell as Jack, Jordan Loughran as Tip, and Mido Hamada as Eamonn.

No details yet on when Emerald City will air on NBC, but we’ll keep you posted on any developments.
