Star Wars The Force Awakens POSTER

The anticipation for director J.J. Abrams’ upcoming installment in the Star Wars franchise continues to grow with every rumor or piece of news that releases online. After a brand new poster was unveiled on Sunday October 18 (pictured right), we now have a brand new trailer for the upcoming film.

The new trailer for The Force Awakens practically screams Star Wars, featuring very impressive visuals, insights into some of the new characters’ backstories, including Kylo Ren and Finn, and memorable segments of composer John Williams’ famous score from the original trilogy.

From the trailer we learn of Kylo Ren’s motivations as the film’s villain, seeing how he is inspired by Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine and aims to finish their work. We also get our first look at Carrie Fisher returning as Princess Leia and Harrison Ford’s Han Solo speaking of the past.

Directed by J.J. Abrams and starring returning actors Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), and newcomers Daisy Ridley (Rey), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), John Boyega (Finn), and Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Star Wars: The Force Awakens lands in U.S. theaters December 18, 2015.
