Aaron Tveit to star in new show, BrainDead

Aaron TveitAaron Tveit will be starring in BrainDead, a new sci-fi drama on CBS, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Broadway actor’s last TV gig was in the recently axed undercover drama Graceland, which ran for three seasons.

BrainDead will be written by Robert and Michelle King, known for creating The Good Wife, and the story will revolve around “brain-eating aliens who attack Washington, D.C.” This will not be Tveit’s first time working with the Kings, since he also guest starred on The Good Wife in 2011.

Tveit will play Gareth, a smart and hardworking Republican operative who serves as the legislative director to a top Republican senator, and who is also tasked with saving the world. He will be joined by Mary Elizabeth Winstead (The Returned.)

In a statement for The Hollywood Reporter, Robert and Michelle King expressed their enthusiasm about the show and the cast. They said:

“We’re thrilled that Aaron will be joining BrainDead. We’re huge fans of his work – he’s spectacular on stage and screen – and think he’ll be a fantastic opponent-slash -love-interest for Mary Elizabeth Winstead.”

BrainDead is slated to premiere next summer on CBS.
