Once Upon a Time casts Adam Croasdell as Hook’s father

Adam CroasdellBritish actor Adam Croasdell (EastEnders, Supernatural, Body of Proof) joins the cast of Once Upon a Time season 5, when we get to see more of Captain Hook’s backstory. Croasdell will be playing Hook’s father, according to a report by Entertainment Weekly.

Show creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis mentioned during this year’s NYCC panel that one of the upcoming episodes of the season will feature flashback to Hook/Killian Jones’s childhood and include a glimpse of his father. But no more details have been revealed about the role.

At a glance, one can already see the resemblance between Croasdell and Colin O’Donoghue (the smolder! the cheekbones!) so it’s clear where Hook inherited his good looks, but there’s no telling what other traits he may have gotten from his father. So far, the only thing we know of Hook’s pre-pirate past was that his father abandoned him. Hopefully this season, we’re going to get the full story.

Once Upon a Time season 5 is currently airing every Sunday on ABC.
