First Trailer Released for ‘Batman: Bad Blood’

Batman Bad Blood Box ArtDC Entertainment has released the first official trailer for their next animated feature, Batman: Bad Blood. Directed by Jay Oliva, Bad Blood takes place following the events of Batman vs. Robin. When Bruce Wayne (Jason O’Mara) goes missing, former Robin Dick Grayson (Sean Maher) must take up the cape and cowl and become the new Batman.

Returning to the film will be current Robin Damian Wayne, son of Bruce Wayne, voiced by Stuart Allan. Making their first appearance in an animated feature will be Kate Kane/Batwoman and Luke Fox/Batwing voiced by Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck) and Gaius Charles (Grey’s Anatomy), respectively. Batman: Bad Blood will also include Morena Baccarin (Gotham) as Talia al Ghul and Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters) as Lucius Fox.

Batman: Bad Blood seemingly takes inspiration from the Batman story arc Battle for the Cowl, which saw Dick Grayson first take up the role of Batman, as well as inspiration from Grant Morrison’s Batman, Inc., as the film includes the villain Heretic, a prominent villain from that series. That being said the majority of the film seems to be mostly original, only taking cues from certain comic book story lines.

Thanks to DC All Access we now have the first official trailer for Batman: Bad Blood. Check it out in their special New York Comic Con episode below. The trailer begins at 1:16 and is followed by brief interviews with voice actors Jason O’Mara and Gaius Charles, character designer Phil Bourassa, producer James Tucker, and director Jay Oliva.

Batman: Bad Blood is set to release on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download in 2016.
