Jessica Jones takes New York City by Storm

If you hadn’t heard of the intriguing Jessica Jones before this weekend, you sure have now. Marvel went out ofJessica Jones NYCC Signing their way to introduce her properly to the millions that will soon become her biggest fans. They stopped at no cost. Not only did they offer fans free rides to New York Comic Con in a special pimped-out SUV adorned with purple and the show’s title, but they had what many Comic Con attenders called the best booth, allowing individuals to take photos with moveable props at Jessica’s desk, while the villainous Killgrave appeared and whispered behind them. Oh, but the surprises didn’t stop there!

In the morning the cast was met by the biggest mass of fans the Marvel booth had seen yet for their signing. In fact, the raffle tickets for Jessica Jones autographs went faster than those for Daredevil! It certainly was clear that the cast adore each other, from their interactions at the signing with all their laughing and joking together. It was even more clear how appreciative they are of the fans. Krysten Ritter stood, interacting with those who were not lucky enough to gain an autograph and posed for photographs. Even Michael Gaydos, the co-creator of Aliaswas beside himself with the hype around Jessica Jones. He called the whole fact that his comic became a show “very surreal,” and noted that he is “very excited” for others to see the show.

Having filmed in Hell’s Kitchen, many people who worked on set were surrounding the booth and in attendance for the first episode premiere. One man Nick who worked with the cast said, “it was a blast.” While another who worked as a crew member, Jacob, called it the “best time of my life,” while taking a look at all the hype from fans. David Mack, who worked on the artwork for the opening credits as well as on the special comic release, was also in attendance signing and selling his artwork. When asked how he found out about the show, he said, “it was awesome. I got an email from Joe and that was it,” he grinned while signing comics.

Saturday night at the dual Daredevil and Jessica Jones panel, Jeph Loeb brought the cast out for some questions and answers. He announced, for the first official time, who all the celebrities would actually be playing, and they were met with excited screams from fans. Introduced to fans were Eka Darville, who will be playing Malcolm; Erin Moriarty, taking on the role of a New York Police officer; and Carrie-Ann Moss, who in classic Marvel style has been transformed into a powerful woman, playing Jeryn Hogarth.
