New ‘iZombie’ villian to be played by Eddie Jemison

With the second season of iZombie officially underway, good and evil characters are going to come and go. That will be true when the newly cast Mr. Boss, played by Eddie Jemison, arrives on our screen.

“We’re really playing him as the man who runs Seattle,” executive producer Rob Thomas says about Mr. Boss. Unlike the zombie drama’s current (or in Blaine’s case, previous) villains, Mr. Boss will be surprisingly friendly and mild-mannered. Thomas went into more detail about Mr. Boss’ potential history:

“The idea with the Mr. Boss character is essentially that he was the accountant for the mob, and, through his own shrewdness and willingness to go more violent than anyone else would, has landed as the man in Seattle. You would think with that name, it would be a loud, showy character, but he plays an affable, and yet incredibly dangerous villain.”

Is it odd of me to say that I think that the big bad Mr. Boss seems rather lovable and nice? Definitely an antagonist-type character I have yet to see on television.

Eddie Jemison’s previous film/TV credits include the Veronica Mars movie (where he also worked with Rob Thomas), the Ocean’s Eleven trilogy franchise, and Hung. We can expect to see Mr. Boss appear on iZombie in mid-November.

In other iZombie related news, the show has been given five additional scripts for the second season! This would bring the total episode count from 13 to 18!

What are your thoughts on both Eddie Jemison’s casting and/or the increased script order?

iZombie airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on the CW.
