‘Black Sails’ Season 3 Key Art and Trailer Revealed!

Black Sails Season 3 Key Art

A War Against the World is Coming

Everyone’s favorite pirates from Nassau are back! On Wednesday October 1st, Starz released the official trailer and key art for Black Sails‘ upcoming third season.

Featured on the key art (which can be viewed on the right), is Captain James Flint/McGraw (Toby Stephens), sword in hand and burning ships among the background.

The official third season synopsis gives a glimpse as what to expect for the 2016 premiere:

In the wake of the burning of Charles Town, all the New World lives in fear of Captain Flint. But when his campaign of terror crosses over into madness, it falls to John Silver to locate the man within the monster before it’s too late. Meanwhile, with Eleanor Guthrie in prison, Jack Rackham oversees a new Nassau, hoping to secure his legacy as a king among thieves. All will be tested when a new threat arrives, one the pirates could never have anticipated. It knows them. It understands them. And in the blink of an eye, it will turn them against each other.

Released along with the key art, was the highly anticipated season three trailer.

Who is this Rich Rogers and why does he think he can govern Nassau better then Eleanor (who he’s held hostage)? Plus, we finally have footage of Ray Stevenson‘s portrayal of Blackbeard. Think he will be a friend or foe?

While Black Sails Season 3 doesn’t air until January 2016, there are heaps of footage to discuss and analyze over (like John Silver’s peg leg for instance).

What are you most looking forward to seeing within the upcoming season?
