Watch the new Heroes Reborn promo

Noah Bennett Heroes RebornNBC has released a new video clip that gives us a first look behind the scenes, and also serves as a trailer for the show, according to a report by the Latin Post.

The story of this reboot starts with people with powers being persecuted for being different. Tim Kring, creator and executive producer of the show, reveals in the clip that there are more people with special abilities but they all find themselves in danger and constantly looking over their shoulder.

Various cast members discuss the tone and themes of the upcoming series, as well as provide some hints about their individual roles. Several characters from the original Heroes series return, to the delight of fans. These include Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), Noah Bennett (Jack Coleman), Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy), Angela Petrelli (Cristine Rose), and Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg.)

In the clip, Grunberg describes the upcoming season as “Heroes like you’ve never seen it before. This is Heroes on steroids.”

Masi Oka says that the reboot is a “passing of the torch in many ways,” since the story will focus on the new characters and their struggles.

“This is about the new Heroes,” Ramamurthy added, “And we’re kind of here to help them start this journey.”

These new characters include Tommy (Robbie Kay) and Emily (Gatlin Green), two kids with powers who find themselves relentlessly pursued by the antagonists, Joanne (Judith Shekoni) and Luke Collins (Zachary Levi). From the clip, it is clear that Heroes Reborn contains enough action and intrigue to excite older fans and to bring in a new generation of viewers as well.

Heroes Reborn will premiere on September 24 on NBC.
