DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: Falk Hentschel’s Hawkman Becomes Series Regular

SAVHKM_Cv0The CW’s upcoming Arrow/Flash spin-off, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, is set to feature a team consisting of The Atom (Brandon Routh), White Canary (Caity Lotz), Firestorm (Victor Garber), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), and Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), all led by the Time Master known as Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill). We can now add another member to that team: Hawkman, played by Falk Hentschel (Reckless), has been confirmed as a series regular.

Here’s what Executive Producer Phil Klemmer had to say in an interview with DCLegendsTV.com about the complicated relationship Hawkman and Hawkgirl will have on the upcoming series.

. . . the way we’ve imagined them is that they’ve obviously been reincarnated through the ages together, but the fact that he remembers their previous lives and she doesn’t… it gives them very much like a Bogie & Bacall sort of [relationship].

They’re constantly fighting, and the fact that they’re destined to be in love is something that seems impossible to her. That’s the kind of sentimentality that we really strive to avoid on this show. The fact that they’re going to be together someday, we try desperately at every moment to disprove that, this is going to be the one time that they decide to, like, shoot each other in the face.

Klemmer also confirms that Falk Hentschel’s Hawkman will make his first appearance in episode 8 of Arrow‘s fourth season, which will cross over with episode 8 of The Flash‘s second. Though an official premiere date has yet to be revealed, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is set to premiere mid-season later this year.
