An exclusive report by Entertainment Weekly reveals that Emmy-winning star Ian McShane has been cast in an intriguing but unknown role for the sixth season of HBO’s epic fantasy drama. The talented British actor is known for his many roles in both film (Kung Fu Panda, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) and television (Kings, The Pillars of the Earth, Ray Donovan, and HBO’s Deadwood).
No details have been revealed about his character other than the fact that he will be of key importance to the story despite limited screen-time.
McShane joins the constantly growing ensemble cast of the epic series for its most mysterious season so far. The show will be exploring unknown territory, having finished the material of the books. The cast and crew are taking special care not to reveal too much about the plot and the fate of certain characters.
