‘The Vampire Diaries’ casts villainous female trio for Season 7

Last month, it was announced that several villains were headed to Mystic Falls in the upcoming season of The Vampire Diaries. Casting information wasn’t available – until now.

Scarlett and Teresa

Scarlett Byrne (left) and Teresa Liane (right)

TVD‘s first same-sex couple (yes!), Nora and Mary Louise, will be portrayed by Scarlett Byrne and Teressa Liane respectively. The two will play heretics that certainly do not lack in the “powerful and fierce” department. They may have kept their relationship a secret for over a century, but that does not mean they don’t care deeply for one another. Well, Mary Louise may be a little too affectionate for Nora’s liking at times, but what’s a gal pal to do? As a powerful duo or as an individual, they’re a force to be reckoned with.
Byrne’s previous film credits include Falling Skies, and Liane’s the popular Australian soap opera, Neighbours.

But Mary Louise and Nora aren’t the only kick-ass females entering the Salvatore brothers’ domain.

Elizabeth Blackmore

Elizabeth Blackmore

A member of Lily Salvatore’s “family”, Valerie, will be brought to life (pun intended) by Elizabeth Blackmore. While Mamma Salvatore wants to create change through a peaceful approach, Valerie isn’t about that life. Perhaps she’ll try to overtake Lily Salvatore’s position as leader in their little family?
Blackmore’s previous film credits include Legend of the Seeker and Evil Dead.

What are your thoughts on the new characters appearing in Season 7 of the show?

Excited that The Vampire Diaries is finally getting a same-sex couple on the show? ‘Cause I am.

Let’s just hope that Nora and Mary Louise get treated better than the show’s previous lgbtq+ character, Luke Parker. TVD – take notes from your spin-off show, The Originals, and its recurring character, Josh Rosza.

The Vampire Diaries returns to the CW on October 8th. Will you be watching?
