Westeros is coming to your home. With the upcoming release of new Game of Thrones toys, you will be able to relive your favorite parts of the story by staging mini-versions of memorable scenes.
According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, HBO have announced a new toy line in partnership with McFarlane toys. They will be making realistic and elaborate “construction sets” and character figurines based on the hit television series. The craftsmanship and attention to detail paid to each item are nearly on par with the costumes and sets of the real thing, making these products truly collectibles.
Toy designer (and creator of Spawn series) Todd McFarlane said:
“[HBO is] a world-class network and Game of Thrones is one of the most visually compelling shows that I’ve ever seen. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to create high-quality collectible construction sets based on this fan-favorite property. Both collectors and fans of this epic series can build their favorite scenes with this new product line.”
The first set to be released is the Iron Throne Room, which includes the characters of King Joffrey Baratheon, Tyrion Lannister, various members of the Kingsguard, and some Lannister knights. Upcoming releases include a Mother of Dragons set with Daenerys Targaryen, Grey Worm, Rhaegal, and an Unsullied soldier; and an Attack on The Wall set featuring Jon Snow, his direwolf, Ghost, a Crow, a Wildling, and a Wight.
Each set includes scene-specific characters and accessories and the prices range from $14.99 to $49.99 (the fully stocked spread below includes the Iron Throne Room’s starter kit plus additional characters that cost extra). Individual figurines cost $3.99 each.
The toys will be revealed in Comic-Con next week and will be available in stores this fall.
