“London Has Fallen”, first look at Gerard Butler action sequel

After having protected the U.S. President during a deadly attack in Olympus Has Fallen, Secret Service Agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) is back to save the day, or in this case, London.

London Has FallenLondon Has Fallen, the upcoming sequel to the 2013 action thriller, promises to be even more exciting than its predecessor by broadening the scope of the story and moving the setting to another prominent city.

In an interview with Empire, Butler said, “It’s a fun franchise. You get to do a lot of really badass action, but it’s got its tongue firmly in its cheek.”

This new film certainly raises the stakes by having Banning and American President Benjamin Asher (played by Aaron Eckhart) embroiled in a sinister plot to kill the world’s most powerful leaders. Banning will also be working together with his counterpart in MI6, played by Charlotte Riley (Edge of Tomorrow, In the Heart of the Sea).

Returning cast members include Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Melissa Leo, Radha Mitchell, and Robert Forster, while Jackie Earle Haley and Colin Salmon are on board to play new characters.

London Has Fallen is set to be released on January 22, 2016 . Excited for the movie? Feel free to let us know in the comments below.
