So, did you think you saw the last of John Barrowman’s Malcolm Merlyn in Arrow‘s season three finale? Think again.

Malcolm Merlyn, who was last seen taking up the mantle of Ra’s al Ghul, will indeed return for the fourth season of The CW’s Arrow. Here’s what the former Doctor Who co-star had to say at Las Vegas Comic Con this past weekend concerning his return:

We start filming in July, Season Four — I just finalized my deal about a week ago. I’m very excited about going back, I can’t tell you anything because I do know a bit about what’s going to happen. But if you love Malcolm Merlyn, if you love Oliver Queen, if you love Thea Queen, if you love the Canary sisters, and I say that with a bit of a twist and a joke in it, you’re going to love what’s going to happen across the DC world.

While the official premiere date of season four has yet to be revealed, Arrow will return this Fall 2015 with what producer Marc Guggenheim promises will be a season lighter in tone.

Are you excited to find out John Barrowman is returning to the series? What do you hope to see Malcolm Merlyn accomplish as the new Ra’s al Ghul? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
