Earlier this week, Disney announced that a television show based on the movie is in the works! The show will be set between the events of the movie and the short, Tangled Ever After. So based on this information, it seems that Flynn Rider (ahem Eugene Fitzherbet) and Rapunzel partook in several more adventures than were shown in the predecessor film.

Besides Rapunzel and Flynn, several other lovable characters will return. Rapunzel’s sassy little chameleon Pascal, Maximus, and the Stabbington Brothers will all make some sort of appearance in the upcoming show.

But that’s not all. Composer Alan Menken (he’s basically scored and written songs for heaps of Disney films in the past, including Tangled) will be writing the music for the show. And the film’s very own Rapunzel and Flynn, Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, will be reprising their roles once again.

Unfortunately the series won’t premiere on the Disney Channel until 2017, so we’ve got a long while to wait for Rapunzel and company to appear on our television screens weekly.

In the meantime, how do you guys think the show will be animated? The original film took more of a CGI approach as opposed to hand drawn. But based off of the promotional photo (pictured above) that was released with the television series announcement, could this be a glimpse at what we can expect to see animation-wise from the Tangled team?
