Jurassic World is poised to smash projections and the June debut record as projections put their opening weekend at $155 million – with $65 million on Friday alone!

Jurassic World might just become the best June debut of all time, beating 2013’s Man of Steel, which brought in $116.6 million. It would also be the year’s second-best opening, behind Disney and Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron ($191.3 million).

It’s been over a decade since the last Jurassic movie – and over twenty since the original Jurassic Park stomped into people’s imaginations. Fond memories, Chris Pratt, and the magic of Steven Spielberg – plus the dinosaurs, of course – are forming a perfect box office storm.

Jurassic World – with a T-Rex sized $150 million budget – is playing at 13,551 theaters worldwide — the widest Universal release of all time.

The adventure pic is directed by Colin Trevorrow and stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson.
