The trailer for The Martian premiered yesterday, offering up an exciting and emotional star vehicle for Matt Damon as an astronaut presumed dead – but actually left behind – after a manned expedition to Mars goes wrong. As Martin attempts to “science the shit” out of his situation in order to communicate with his teammates and Earth, a daring rescue may just be on its way.
Helmed by Ridley Scott, The Martian is based on a best-selling book by Andy Weir. The cast – besides Damon – includes Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Michael Peña, Kate Mara, Sean Bean, Sebastian Stan, Aksel Hennie, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. It’s release is scheduled for November 2015.
