Marvel Studios is rolling out their new Netflix mini-series beginning with Daredevil in 2015. Now Marvel has found the star of their next Netflix series, A.K.A. Jessica Jones, based on the character created by Brian Michael Bendis, who first appeared in her own Marvel title, Alias.

Krysten Ritter has been selected to play the titular role of Jessica Jones. According to showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, “Krysten brings both the hard edge and the vulnerability the role demands.” Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television, states:

Krysten Ritter has the type of range, spanning the comic to the tragic, that makes for the stuff of the best Marvel heroes. As Jessica Jones, Krysten will bring one of the most beloved new characters of the past decade to life in a way we know will delight her longtime fans and introduce her to many more.

Krysten Ritter has appeared in numerous projects since the early 2000s. Some projects include Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, and most recently, Breaking Bad, and the short-lived ABC comedy Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23. She is also set to appear in Tim Burton’s Big Eyes alongside Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz.

Now all Marvel has to do is find their Luke Cage and their Iron Fist and they’ll have their Defenders. What do you think of Krysten Ritter for the role of Jessica Jones? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
