Daniel Bruhl

Captain America: Civil War promises to be a game changer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s already going to have three big superheroes involved with Captain America, Iron Man, and the first appearance of the Black Panther (somewhere in there they better fit in Bucky and Falcon too, because if they don’t finish the Winter Soldier storyline the Internet will not be happy). But another actor has just joined the cast in an undisclosed role.

Spanish-German actor Daniel Bruhl, known for his roles in Rush and Inglorious Basterds, will join Chris Evans, Robert Downey, Jr., and Chadwick Boseman for what is sure to be an epic installment in the MCU. It’s not official what character he will be playing, but rumors are already flying that he’ll be a villain.

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel studios, sounds excited for Bruhl to become a member of the Marvel family:

With Daniel’s ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes.

Captain America: Civil War opens on May 6, 2016. Who do you think Bruhl will play? How many different German villains could there be in the Marvel universe (oh, wait…)? Let us know what you think in the comments!
