James Bond 24: New Bond Girl Cast

Lea Seydoux

The currently nameless 24th James Bond film has reportedly cast a new Bond girl. Léa Seydoux has signed on to play a femme fatale character, according to the Daily Mail, (meaning it’s not official yet, but it sounds likely). Seydoux is a French actress, but you may know her from Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Inglourious Basterds, The Grant Budapest Hotel, and Blue is the Warmest Color.

There’s not much else we know about her role, or about the movie either. There have been rumors here and there about everything from the production to the casting, but very little official information has been released. We know Sam Mendes is returning to direct, Daniel Craig will be James Bond again, and Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, and Ralph Fiennes will be reprising their roles as well. Supposedly the story will continue themes from the surprisingly popular Skyfall, with a script by Skyfall‘s screenwriter John Logan and some touching up by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. And that’s about all we know for sure, and even a few of those tidbits aren’t even official. But Seydoux is the first real casting announcement we’ve had, even if it’s not one we know for sure, so maybe things are picking up with production. Filming is supposed to begin soon, with script rehearsal next month, so we might actually start hearing more about this mysterious new Bond installment.

James Bond 24, as people like to call it, will be released on October 23, 2015 in the UK and November 6, 2015 in the US. What do you think about this supposed casting news? Let us know in the comments!
