Valiant Entertainment Set to Launch Six New Titles

Valiant LogoIn 2012 Valiant Entertainment returned to the forefront of comics with a complete line-wide relaunch. Since then the company has rebooted several of their titles formerly introduced in the 1990s. In 2015 Valiant Entertainment will launch six new series, including The Valiant, which was announced earlier this year.

Launching December 10, The Valiant will be written by Jeff Lemire (Justice League United) and Matt Kindt (Unity) and drawn by Paolo Rivera (Amazing Spider-Man) It is said to showcase a cast of characters from the Valiant Universe, including Bloodshot, Eternal Warrior, Geomancer, and more.

January 2015 will see the launch of Ivar, Timewalker, written by by Fred Van Lente and drawn by Clayton Henry (Archer & Armstrong). The title is intended to reboot the character Ivar the Timewalker, who made his first appearance in 1993 in Archer and Armstrong/Eternal Warrior #8

Two titles will launch in February, including Divinity, a four-issue mini-series by writer Matt Kindt and artist Trevor Hairsine (Eternal Warrior), and Imperium written by Joshua Dysart (Harbinger) and Doug Braithwaite (Armor Hunters). Divinity follows a Russian cosmonaut who returns home from space as a “powerful deity”, while Imperium is essentially a sequel to Valiant’s current Harbinger series.

In March, Ninjak will return in his own series appropriately titled Ninjak (he hasn’t had his own series since 1998). That series will be written by Matt Kindt and drawn by Clay Mann (X-Men: Legacy). The character of Ninjak can currently be seen in the series Unity, also written by Matt Kindt.

Lastly, Valiant will launch Bloodshot Reborn in April, a sequel to their current Bloodshot title, with writer Jeff Lemire and artist Mico Suayan (Shadowman) taking on the project.

Fans of Valiant Entertainment now have plenty to look forward to in 2015. Personally, I’m most looking forward to Imperium, as it spins out of Harbinger, a series I’ve thoroughly enjoyed since 2012.
