DC Comics’ ‘Batgirl’ Heads in a New Direction

The highly anticipated new take on Batgirl begins Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Batgirl has exploded on the internet in recent months, with tons of reader-created fan art of the character’s new design and some people already cosplaying in her new and improved costume. The new arc beginning in Batgirl #35 sees Barbara Gordon/Batgirl ditch her old getup, create a new costume, and move to the hip and happening Burnside district after a fire destroys all of her possessions. Taking over on the series are writers Brenden Fletcher (Wednesday Comics) and Cameron Stewart (Assassin’s Creed: Brahman), and artist Babs Tarr.
