Last month, we brought you the news that a director’s version of X-Men: Days of Future Past would be released later this year. But apparently, that wasn’t entirely accurate. Producer Lauren Shuler Donner had tweeted that an extended version would come out later this year, but now Fox’s EVP of Marketing Communications, James Finn, has contradicted that previous news with a tweet of his own.

Although an extended cut of the film will be released, it won’t be available until sometime in 2015. The version that will be released later this year will only be the theatrical one. You can see the tweet for yourself, so you can rage at this inexplicable delay with proper evidence:

The theatrical cut of X-Men: Days of Future Past will be released in Digital HD on September 23 and on Blu-ray October 14. The extended version will be available sometime next year. And while that’s later than we’d been told, at least it’s still going to be released. So what do you think? Disappointed? Or still excited? Let us know in the comments!
