Back when Edgar Wright was still pushing Marvel to make Ant-Man, it seemed like the little movie that could. But after Wright left over creative differences and was replaced by Peyton Reed, things haven’t felt the same. Marvel tried to assure us that things wouldn’t change, that the movie would be very similar to what Wright had planned, but those promises haven’t exactly given the fans much confidence in the film. Now, things are once again in flux.

Three actors have left the movie: Patrick Wilson, Matt Gerald, and Kevin Weisman. Wilson reportedly had to leave due to scheduling conflicts, which arose after production was delayed (most likely due to Wright leaving and the script being rewritten), while Gerald’s and Weisman’s characters were both written out of the latest version of the script. Who will replace Wilson, whose character has been shrouded in mystery, is unknown at this point.

Ant-Man is scheduled to premiere July 17, 2015. What do you think about the latest exits from the film? Do you suspect it’s actually related to Wright’s departure? Let us know in the comments below!
