Hayley Atwell revealed to Entertainment Weekly that she will be reprising her role as Peggy Carter in the upcoming The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
How did she get her role? Atwell explains:
We went out drinking one night and he [writer/director Joss Whedon] was like, ‘You know, it would be great to write something for you.’ And I was like, ‘Yes, Joss, it would! It would be amazing!’
Peggy Carter is going to have her own series on ABC soon, Agent Carter, which will follow her younger days kicking ass and taking names for the SSR. Will her role in Age of Ultron be connected to the series? Will we be seeing a young Peggy Carter or the older Peggy we glimpsed in Captain America: The Winter Soldier? We’ll have to wait and see!
The Avengers: Age of Ultron will open in the UK on April 24, 2015 and in the US on May 1. Agent Carter will premiere this winter between the fall and spring runs of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
