Marvel Announces Release Dates for 5 New Movies

avengers_2012_Marvel always likes to plan ahead. Right from the start with the first Iron Man, they planted the seed for what would become known as Phase One, the series of superhero movies leading up to The Avengers. And ever since, they have been on a roll, plotting out Phase Two, which will culminate with The Avengers: Age of Ultron in May of 2015. Marvel’s ultimate plan is to have three Avengers films, at least, so they now have Phase Three and beyond to figure out. We already know two of the Phase Three films, Ant-Man and Captain America 3, to be released July 17, 2015 and May 6, 2016 respectively. Marvel has also previously announced two untitled films to be released July 8, 2016 and May 5, 2017, one of which will probably be Doctor Strange.

But now Marvel has announced the release dates for five additional films, though they have yet to reveal the titles for any of them. The new release dates are: July 28 and November 3, 2017, July 6 and November 2, 2018, and finally May 3, 2019. A third Thor and of course the third Avengers will most likely take two of those spots, though it’s also possible that one of those films (probably Thor 3) could take one of the two previously announced and still untitled spots. Perhaps a fourth Iron Man and, if things go well, a sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy will take a couple of spots, and maybe that rumored Black Panther film and a solo movie for Hulk or Black Widow could round things out. But that’s all speculation at this point. The most likely thing to happen is that Avengers 3 will be one of these newly announced films, probably one of the later dates so that all the other films will lead up to what is expected to be an epic and cosmic showdown.

What do you think these new movies will be? What do you hope Marvel has in store for Phase Three and Phase Four? Let us know in the comments!
