We have a couple of interesting bits of news for you today about Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. First, Empire has released two magazine covers featuring the cast of the movie.

One cover shows off the heroes of the film, the Guardians of the Galaxy themselves:

But the second cover, bearing a noticeably darker coloring, gives us a closer look at the villains: Nebula (Karen Gillan), Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace), and Korath the Pursuer (Djimon Hounsou).

But the covers aren’t all the news we have for you today. A while ago, Nathan Fillion had hinted that he might make an appearance in the film, and director James Gunn has now officially confirmed that this is correct. Gunn admitted Fillion’s involvement in a tweet where he said “@nathanfillion has a very small fun cameo he did as a favor to me.” Naturally, rumors are now flying about who he could possibly play, but it looks like we’ll have to wait and see to know for sure.

Guardians of the Galaxy will open in theaters July 31 in the UK and August 1 in the US. What do you think of the new magazine covers? Who do you think Fillion might play? Let us know in the comments below!
