I’ve been waiting for a trailer to drop for Kingsman: The Secret Service ever since we got an awesome first look at the film at WonderCon back in April.
I’ll admit, the trailer was a bit of a disappointment. Probably mostly because I admit to knowing nothing about the comic the film is based on, and the entirety of the footage we were fortunate enough to see at WonderCon was Colin Firth kicking some serious ass. Unfortunately, the trailer shows only a bare minimum of Firth’s awesomeness. That’s mostly because the footage shown at WonderCon came only a week after the film had started filming, and this trailer is made up of a more complete story.
It’s still awesome, and still looks exciting. But well, needs more Colin Firth kicking ass. What do you think?
Synopsis: Based upon the acclaimed comic book and directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick Ass, X-Men First Class), Kingsman: The Secret Service tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.
Kingsman: The Secret Service opens on 24th October, 2014.
I’ve never read Mark Millar’s ‘The Secret Service’ before, but the movie looks promising. Mainly because of the solid cast. I might have to check out the comic before I see this.
I’m always torn between reading the source material first, or waiting until after I see the adaptation. I mean if I’ve already waited this long, it feels like I may as well continue waiting. Though I’m usually fairly decent at keeping the attitude of “this movie/show vaguely resembles that book I read once, but is it’s own thing”
I can say, the footage at Wondercon was amazing though. I never knew I needed to see Firth kick ass, but I really did.
