20th Century Fox is continuing to expand its X-Men universe through sequels and hopeful spinoffs, including a movie about fan favorite character Gambit. There were rumors that Channing Tatum would play the iconic role, supported by Producer Lauren Shuler Donner’s comments, but many a fan figured that would never come to be. (And perhaps many a fan hoped that wouldn’t come to be.) However, it is now confirmed that Tatum will in fact be playing the Ragin’ Cajun.
The exact project he has been cast for has not yet been revealed officially, but sources say that Gambit will be introduced in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse and then he will spunoff into a solo film.

I like Channing Tatum, but I just can’t see him in that role. Hopefully, him and Bryan Singer will surprise me.
I really am not happy about this casting. Maybe they’ll surprise me, but right now, I’m bummed.
I prefer Taylor Kitsch.
