During this week’s season finale of Arrow The CW revealed a teaser for their upcoming Flash TV series. To the song “Birth” by 30 Seconds to Mars, the teaser show’s Stephen Amell’s Arrow entering an open field and aiming his bow at a nearby target. He fires an arrow off, but before it reaches its target Grant Gustin’s Flash swoops in a snatches it mid-air. I can understand some people having gripes with The Flash’s costume, being that it is much darker and looser than the comic book version, but I think he looks pretty good. Also, the special effects showcasing his speed are on point, complete with flashes of electricity. Take a look:
In addition, The CW has released an awesome 5-minute trailer for the series, and from the looks of it Arrow is set to make an appearance in the pilot episode. Check it out:
The CW has also revealed the official timeslot and synopsis for The Flash. The show is set to air in the fall on Tuesdays at 8PM ET/PT, thus pairing The Flash with Supernatural. The official synopsis is as follows:
After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become…The Flash.
The Flash will star Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh, John Wesley Shipp, Michelle Harrison, Rick Cosnett, Danielle Panabaker, Jesse L. Martin, and Grant Gustin in the titular role. The series will be developed by Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg (Arrow), and the pilot will be directed by David Nutter (Game of Thrones).
