FOX has released the first official trailer for their upcoming new series Gotham, which will be based on characters from DC Comics. The show will star Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sean Pertwee, Camren Bicondova, and David Mazouz among many other actors who will portray several iconic characters from the Batman universe. The show has been green-lit for a full season and is set to premiere in the fall of 2014. Check out the trailer below.
As you can tell from the trailer, a lot of attention will be focused on a young Detective Gordon played by Ben McKenzie (Southland). In addition, the show will also tackle the early years of Bruce Wayne/Batman, played by David Mazouz (Touch) following the murder of his parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne. On top of that, we will also be introduced to several characters including Harvey Bullock played by Donal Logue, Fish Mooney played by Jada Pinkett Smith, Selina Kyle played by Camren Bicondova, Alfred Pennyworth played by Sean Pertwee, Edward Nygma/The Riddler played by Cory Michael Smith, Robin Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, and many more.

I was in until it got to the “Before so-and-so” bit and they showed so many of the iconic villains. It already feels like Spiderman 3 to me, because while this is a show (which would make you think that at least they’ll have more time to develop the char), they’ve only filmed the pilot, which means in one hour we’re going to be introduced to that many characters? It just looks like a clusterfuck to be honest.
