Marc Warren joins The Musketeers in season 2

the Comte De RochefortAfter Peter Capaldi left The Musketeers due to his casting as The Twelfth Doctor on Doctor Who, our heroes had to face a new villain in the second season. Earlier today, BBC has announced that one of the new characters of the second season is the Comte De Rochefort (one of Alexandre Dumas’s antagonists). Played by Marc Warren (Mad Dogs, Hustle), the Comte is “a dashing and persuasive aristocrat with a talent for sword fighting and a taste for adventure”. I can’t wait to see the confrontation between the musketeers and this new villain. Mark my words: it will be worth watching. The picture on the left features the Comte De Rochefort and Aramis.

Speaking about the cast, Tamla Kari (Constance Bonacieux), Maimie McCoy (Milady de Winter), Hugo Speer (Captain Treville), Ryan Gage (King Louis) and Alexandra Dowling (Queen Anne) are back for the second season. I’m very content that I’ll see them again in The Musketeers. It seems that we haven’t seen the last of Milady. She will probably return to Paris despite Athos’s warning.

So, what are your thoughts on Marc Warren as the Comte De Rochefort? Let us know in the comments.
