It was announced in the fall of 2013 that Glee alum Grant Gustin would take on the iconic role of Barry Allen/The Flash in his own series on The CW. During the winter of 2013 we got our first taste of Barry Allen in the Arrow episode, “The Scientist”. Currently The CW’s Flash TV series is still in development with casting updates popping up every other week. Now we have our first official look at Grant Gustin in costume as the scarlet speedster, The Flash. Check it out:
Unfortunately, we’re only getting a look at his mask, but what a mask. The design follows the comic book art of The Flash very closely, incorporating both his chin guard and iconic yellow lightning bolts. Personally, I love it and cannot wait to see the full costume. I really like it. I’m don’t know a lot about The Flash, but it seems to capture the essence of the character, while still trying to go for the darker look this universe has. Can’t wait to see what the rest looks like.
