Barry Allen’s Mother Cast In ‘The Flash’

Michelle Harrison (Emily Owens M.D.) has been selected to play Barry Allen’s mother, Nora, in The CW’s upcoming The Flash TV series. DC Comics readers, as well as those who watch Arrow, know that Barry’s mother was killed when he was a child and his father was wrongfully accused for it. Her unsolved death eventually led Barry to becoming a forensic scientist, which in turn leads to him becoming The Flash after an accident involving a particle accelerator in the season 2 episode of Arrow, “Three Ghosts”.

Harrison’s Nora Allen  is described as a “recurring/guest starring role.” The pilot episode will most likely feature Harrison in Barry’s recollection of his mother’s death. If the series gets picked up for a full season, we may see Harrison’s character in more flashbacks further building on Barry’s childhood.

Michelle Harrison will be joining a cast that already includes Jesse L. Martin, Rick Cosnett, Danielle Panabaker, Candice Batton, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh, John Wesley Shipp, and Grant Gustin.
