Sick of the long wait between seasons of American Horror Story? Looking for a new creepy thriller? Look no further than Showtime’s upcoming series Penny Dreadful.
The name alone should tell you all you need to know about the show, coming of course from the 19th century British serials that were sensationalized gothic fare of highwaymen, vampires, and one which introduced the character of Sweeney Todd. The series will be set in Victorian London, and offers a retelling of some of your favorite macabre stories; from Frankenstein to Dracula, and Dorian Gray. It boasts an impressive cast and creative team to boot. Starring Eva Green, Josh Hartnett (we were just wondering where he’s been lately), and Timothy Dalton, it was created, written and executive produced by John Logan (The Aviator, Gladiator).
