Candice Patton & Carlos Valdes Cast In ‘The Flash’

The roles of Iris West and Cisco Ramon in The CW’s upcoming The Flash TV series have been filled. Candice Patton (The Game) will be playing Barry Allen/The Flash’s love interest, Iris West. Carlos Valdes, a newcomer to television having only performed in the Broadway musicals Once and Jersey Boys, will portray Cisco Ramon, who is also known as the superhero Vibe.

Patton’s character Iris West is currently described as “Barry Allen’s fast-talking, quick-witted best friend and also the daughter of Detective West,” but if The CW stays true to the source material we may see her and Barry falling for each other eventually. Valdes’ character Cisco Ramon/Vibe is described as “a mechanical engineering genius and the youngest member of the team of scientists at S.T.A.R. Labs.”

They will be joining a cast that already includes Jesse L. Martin (Smash) as Detective West, Rick Cosnett (The Vampire Diaries) as Detective Eddie Thawne, Danielle Panabaker (Necessary Roughness) as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost, and Grant Gustin (Glee) as Barry Allen/The Flash.
