‘The Flash’ TV Series Gets Two New Cast Members

The Flash

Rick Cosnett and Danielle Panabaker have been cast in The CW’s upcoming Flash TV series.

Rick Cosnett, who plays Dr. Wes Maxfield on The Vampire Diaries, will be playing Detective Eddie Thawne. Deadline describes Thawne as “a recent transfer to the Central City Police Department, whose past is a mystery and who harbors a dark secret.” In the comics, Eddie Thawne is an arch enemy of The Flash who goes by the alias Reverse-Flash.

Danielle Panabaker, who has recently guest starred on shows like Mad Men and Bones, will be playing Caitlin Snow. Snow is described as “a highly intelligent bioengineering expert who lost her fiancé during an explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs.” DC readers will recognize the name Caitlin Snow as the real name of DC villain Killer Frost.

That’s two significant DC villains we’ll be seeing in season one as Rick Cosnett and Danielle Panabaker join Grant Gustin and Jesse L. Martin, who will be playing Barry Allen/The Flash and Detective West, respectively. The Flash is set to premiere on The CW later this year.
