Deathlok Heads to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The character of Mike Peterson, played by J. August Richards, will be undergoing some drastic alterations very soon. Those of you who have been watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. know that after the events of “The Bridge”, Peterson was left with several burns and an amputated leg. Well, it turns out due to these events Peterson will become the character known as Deathlok, a cyborg from the Marvel universe. According to, here’s what viewers can expect from the character:

With a high-tech eye that allows him to see through walls, super strength and increased speed courtesy of a cybernetic leg, will Deathlok fight alongside the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or against them?

J. August Richards seems delighted to be playing Deathlok, stating, “If you would have asked when I was nine-years old what I wanted to be, I would have said a super hero and I’m so excited to be one now as an adult on TV! It’s a dream come true.”

In regards to this recent news, Executive Producer Jeffrey Belle claims, “We have been waiting all season for this moment where we can reveal that Mike Peterson’s story arc is an origin story,” and “We’re thrilled to have J. August Richards playing Deathlok and to have our audience enjoy this favorite Marvel character on the show.”
