Aaron-Taylor-JohnsonThere have been rumors roaming for months that Aaron Taylor-Johnson, famous for his role in Kick-Ass, would play the mutant Pietro Maximoff, aka Quicksilver, in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Pretty much everyone’s been going on the assumption that he would be picked for the role, so it’s a bit anti-climactic to say now that he has been officially cast, but hey, it’s big news anyway.

It has been confirmed, via The Wrap, that Taylor-Johnson will be playing the superhero in the Avengers universe (meanwhile Evan Peters will be playing him in X-Men: Days of Future Past). Elizabeth Olsen, according to Samuel L. Jackson, will be playing his sister, the Scarlet Witch.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron will open in theaters May 1, 2015. What do you think about the casting? Will it be confusing to have two Quicksilvers coming to the big screen? Sound off in the comments!
