Avengers 2: Ultron Will Differ from the Comics

UltronWe’ve already heard that the villain Ultron will not be a creation of Ant-Man, like he is in the comics, in the upcoming The Avengers: Age of Ultron film. But apparently that won’t be the only difference for the character. Joss Whedon recently gave an interview with Entertainment Weekly, (he even graced the cover), where he discussed his work over the years and what he’s focusing on right now. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. came up of course, and he compared it to the Buffy episode “The Zeppo,” but he also discussed the massive project of bringing to life the sequel to one of the highest-grossing films of all time, The Avengers. Here’s what he had to say about Ultron:

I knew right away what I wanted to do with him. He’s always trying to destroy the Avengers, goddamn it, he’s got a bee in his bonnet. He’s not a happy guy, which means he’s an interesting guy. He’s got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we’ll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic, and I already have someone who’s a witch.

…As a character I love [Ultron] because he’s so pissed off.

Looks like he doesn’t want Ultron to be stepping on the powers of the Scarlet Witch, who will be introduced in the new film. A good idea, but what powers will he have then?

The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released May 1, 2015. What do you think about Ultron having fewer powers? Let us know in the comments below!
