Jonathan Banks Headed to Greendale

Breaking Bad star Jonathan Banks will appear in Community‘s fifth season, reports Entertainment Weekly. With one major cast member already gone and another on the way out, it’s no surprise that Community is looking to increase enrollment — this time, though, the fresh blood will be joining Greendale Community College’s teaching staff.

Banks is set to play Pat Nichols, an intriguing professor Annie encounters in her criminology class, and will feature in eleven episodes of the thirteen-episode season. As the writers scramble to fill the void left behind by Pierce and Troy, one can only hope Banks is a stronger addition to the show than last season’s uncomfortably predatory Professor Cornwallis, played by Malcolm McDowell.
